DONKEY
This sculpture is inspired by William Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In the play, the simple craftsman Bottom is magically given the head of a donkey and becomes one of the story’s most memorable characters. Shakespeare reminds us that love does not always obey reason—it is full of illusions, surprises, and humor.
The donkey here may also remind us of an old, familiar truth: sometimes a father believes that his daughter’s future chosen one is nothing but a donkey. Yet love often sees what others cannot…

LOVERS
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, four young lovers enter an enchanted forest where the magic of a mystical flower confuses their feelings. Through their story, Shakespeare shows that love is often complicated, unpredictable, and does not always follow logic. The miracles that take place in the forest lead to misunderstandings, jealousy, and quarrels, but in the end, after overcoming many trials, love finds its way.

PUCK ON A TURTLE
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Puck is the nimble and unpredictable servant of Oberon, King of the Fairies, who delights in tricks and surprises. Here he rides a turtle—a slow, calm, and wise creature. This unexpected pairing symbolizes the balance between haste and thoughtful decisions, between playful mischief and the wisdom of life.

PUCK
Puck, also known as Robin Goodfellow, is one of the most prominent characters in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He is a mischievous woodland spirit and Oberon’s servant whose magic entangles the destinies of the lovers. Puck symbolizes the tricks of fate, unexpected events, imagination, and the unpredictability of love. He reminds us that not everything in life can be planned, and that the greatest miracles are sometimes born from chaos. His bust is surrounded by poisonous flowers, and visitors can step inside it to view the flower park through the eyes of this elf.

FROG
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Frog is one of Queen Titania’s attendants, living in the enchanted forest. Together with the other woodland creatures, it helps create a mysterious, vibrant, and enchanting world where nature breathes with magic.

MANOR PARK – “A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM” SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
The manor park features sculptures inspired by William Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. They depict the play’s characters and symbols, revealing a world of love, nature, imagination, and magical transformation. This work also inspired the seventeen-year-old Felix Mendelssohn to compose the world-famous Wedding March.
